Born: Sedalia, Missouri, October 17, 1971
Education:Mr. Foster graduated from Central Missouri States with a B.S. degree in finance and a Masters of Science degree. Mr. Foster graduated law school from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He currently serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, teaching the courses of "Trial Advocacy I & II." In addition to his busy litigation practice, Mr. Foster regularly speaks to other attorneys and students on important legal issues and is a consistent contributor to legal publications throughout the country.

Admissions: Mr. Foster is admitted to practice before the Missouri Supreme Court, the Missouri Court of Appeals, the Kansas Supreme Court, the Kansas Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri, the United States District Court of the District of Kansas, the United States Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. Due to the nature of his practice, Mr. Foster has also been admitted pro hac vice in many courts throughout the country.
Boards and Affiliations: Mr. Foster has been selected by his peers to be a member of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys Board of Governors. Mr. Foster is also a founding member of the University of Missouri- Kansas City Trial Advocacy Board. He is a member of the Missouri Bar, the Kansas Bar Association, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the American Association of Justice, Trial Lawyers for Public Justice, and is a frequent speaker at seminars which focus on trial tactics and strategy.
Multidistrict Litigation: Selected by Federal Judges, to serve on Steering Committees in some of the nation’s largest litigation, Mr. Foster's appointments by the federal bench include:
- U.S. District Judge Eldon E. Fallon, Eastern District of Louisiana, to serve on the Plaintiffs' Steering Committee in the Vioxx MDL Litigation;
- U.S. District Judge Charles R. Breyer, to serve on the Plaintiffs' Discovery Committee in the In Re: Bextra And Celebrex Marketing Sales Practices And Product Liability Litigation.
Verdicts And Settlements:
Mr. Foster received the highest wrongful death verdict in St. Louis County, Missouri (9.5 million). It was the second largest verdict of 2007 in Missouri.
Mr. Foster settlements have consistently been listed in the "year end" top ten settlements in Missouri, including most recently an electrocution case for 10.5 million.

Biography:
Shawn Foster is a partner with Davis, Bethune and Jones, LLC, where his focus is on complex litigation and serious injury and death claims. Throughout his legal career, he has handled wrongful death cases, as well as serious injury cases in a variety of areas including, products liability, railroad crossing accidents, automotive negligence, class action, and mass tort.
Mr. Foster dedicates his practice to the representation of victims and consumers injured by the negligence and fraud of others. Mr. Foster is an experienced litigator, having tried and argued many cases in both state and federal courts throughout the country, as well as having argued in many appellate courts. Mr. Foster has represented plaintiffs living both in the United States and other countries. Mr. Foster has represented plaintiffs residing in Missouri, Arkansas, Illinois, Tennessee, Kansas, Michigan, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Arizona, Idaho, Minnesota, Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana, Washington, Colorado, California, Iowa, Nevada, Virginia, North Carolina, Texas, New York, Wisconsin, Ohio, Georgia and Canada.
